As with humans, dogs require regular dental care. The most frequent canine dental issue is something known as periodontal disease, also referred to as gum disease. This disease starts with a build up of tartar, which results in a buildup of bacteria-eating bacteria. If left to buildup, tartars can cause bad breath, tooth decay, gum disease, and, in more severe cases, teeth damage due to the bacteria. In dogs that have early stage of periodontal disease, treatment is simple and requires you to simply do a few things.
