Skin Care for Men

‘Man skin care’ would seem like an alien topic to some men. It would have been even more alien a few years back. However, more and more men are now realising the importance of man skin care (and hence you see markets flush with man skin care products too). Even though the male skin is very different from that of a female, ‘man skin care’ is very similar to the skin care for women. ‘Man skin care’ too starts with cleansing. Water soluble cleansers are preferred. Cleansing helps remove the dirt, grease and pollutants from the skin and helps in preventing pore clogging. The inherent oily nature of male skin makes cleansing an important part of man skin care procedure. Cleansing should be done at least once every day, even better if it is done twice a day. Using soap on the face is discouraged. ‘Man skin care’ revolves a lot around shaving. Shaving foam/gel/cream and after shave lotion are one of the most important man skin care products. Serious ‘man skin care’ requires a proper selection of shaving related equipment and products. One of the main considerations in choosing shaving products should be the skin type (since the degree […] read more

The Basics of Pay Per Click Advertising

When I think of Pay Per Click, I think of a marketing strategy that has two different sides – one where you pay for published ads and one where you get paid for publishing ads. Somebody is always paying for the click, whether it is you clicking on someone’s ad or another person clicking on your ad. Pay Per Click depends on how you look at who is paying. If you use Google to search the internet then you may find that your search results include “Sponsored Links” (on the right hand side of the search results page). If you click on any of the Sponsored links, the advertiser that placed the ad you clicked must pay Google for that click. If the advertiser is you, you are the one that pays. The price that you would pay depends on how much you have bid on the keywords used to generate the ad. This marketing tactic is called Google Adwords. In addition to the ads being displayed with the search results, Google allows owners of websites and Blogs to display the same ads as contextual ads. Contextual refers to content that relates to the subject of your web page. This […] read more

How to actively listen to your child

Communicating with our children can be a difficult task at times. We feel like they’re not listening to us; they feel like we’re not listening to them. Good listening and communications skills are essential to successful parenting. Your child’s feelings, views and opinions have worth, and you should make sure you take the time to sit down and listen openly and discuss them honestly. It seems to be a natural tendency to react rather than to respond. We pass judgment based on our own feelings and experiences. However, responding means being receptive to our child’s feelings and emotions and allowing them to express themselves openly and honestly without fear of repercussion from us. By reacting, we send our child the message that their feelings and opinions are invalid. But by responding and asking questions about why the child feels that way, it opens a dialog that allows them to discuss their feelings further, and allows you a better understanding of where they’re coming from. Responding also gives you an opportunity to work out a solution or a plan of action with your child that perhaps they would not have come up with on their own. Your child will also appreciate […] read more

Dealing with allergic rhinitis

Allergic rhinitis is often also called nasal allergy, pollinosis or hay fever, especially when it occurs during the haying season. Allergic rhinitis is the occurrence of several symptoms, usually in the eyes and in the nose, after exposure to particles that may be airborne like plant pollens, dander and most especially, dust. An oversensitive immune system is usually cited for the occurrence of allergic rhinitis. Take note that the immune system is your shield against harmful and ailment-causing viruses and bacteria. In some people, immune systems react violently to substances or allergens that are not generally harmful or disease-causing. The most common and primary cause of allergic rhinitis is allergy to pollen. Pollens are very fine and powder-like substances produced by seed plants’ anthers. Allergic rhinitis can be similar to allergic reactions exhibited in some people by allergies to animal dander, inhaled allergens, mold and dust. Some of the plants that usually produce pollens that cause reported cases of allergic rhinitis are deciduous and evergreen trees, flowering plants, ragweed and grasses. Identifying allergic rhinitisThe most common manifestations or symptoms of allergic rhinitis are: o Nasal congestion or what you call stuffy noseo Wheezingo Sore throato Sneezingo Teary eyeso Runny noseo […] read more

Foot Problems in Children

An glaring cliché that children are not just little grown ups. The growing child has growing bones and other body systems that mean that the nature of clinical problems that children have are generally exclusive to children and aren’t like the problems you would most likely expect in a smaller grownup. Because the child is growing, there are particular conditions associated with that. The developing tissues have a propensity to be damaged if they’re subject to injury. The foot is one a part of the body that’s not only developing in the youngster, it is also susceptible to potential injury and also trauma as well as force through the shoes, so there is lot that may go wrong with the feet. On the list of issues for treating foot conditions in youngsters (and a lot of other conditions in kids seen by health care professionals) is figuring out what is abnormal and what’s a part of normal growth. Within podiatry, an illustration of this dilemma is that of flat foot. A flat foot is a part of the normal growth and development of the child therefore it can be difficult to determine when the flat foot is something not necessarily […] read more

Stop and Go Marketing

Stop and Go marketing and ENERGY go hand in hand. Stop and Go marketing says what it is. We go out to market for time periods and then we get busy with our work and stop marketing. Here is the problem with that. Using the example of a funnel filled with clients and business contacts, when we stop marketing the funnel becomes empty over a time period. When the clients dry up we go back to our funnel, which is empty and once again, we panic and rush out to market. Are you familiar with the word and concept of retention? It means keeping your current clients rather than losing them and having to find new ones. It costs a company quite a bit less to keep a customer than it does to go get a new one. With marketing your business, it takes quite a bit less energy to keep the flow of contacts and clients coming through the funnel than it does to have the funnel empty only to begin again. Here is a great example of a metaphor I that we experience everyday. I was on the way to my hair appt this month. I chose to […] read more

Is Goji Berry Juice Worth Taking?

Living forever might not be your ideal, but many believe if you want to live longer, you’ll be well served to consider adding goji juice to your diet. The goji berry is found in the mountains of many Asian countries. Anti-aging experts believe that adding as little as 4 ounces of this juice to your diet can result in significant health benefits. Some say that many of the world’s oldest people have enjoyed drinking goji juice for years … that its anti-aging benefits are so extreme as to prolong life as much as 20 years or more. The goji berry contains a variety of compounds believed to provide the various health benefits claimed. These compounds include essential fatty acids, protein, vitamin C, 19 amino acids (which includes 8 essential to sustain life), vitamin E and B-complex vitamins. The juice from these berries – described by many as pleasantly sweet with a slight tartness – provides all these nutrients plus many more. This juice is expensive, though, which has led many to question the claims made about its ability to extend life, improve energy and reverse disease. Most people know about the various health benefits of red grape juice, or even […] read more

Offline Marketing Ideas

Recently I participated in a forum discussion about offline marketing – that is using more traditional marketing offline to drive traffic to your website or blog. I can still remember the first time I saw a URL in a TV commercial and how cool I thought that was. The offline world has the constraint of geography, so the least expensive forms of viral marketing are going to be geographically bound, which can be challenging for some sites. Someone on the forum said that offline marketing is a waste of time for most sites or blogs. I think that is a false generalization. In fact, every site should practice some form of offline viral promotion. We call these efforts drive to web programs and they can be very successful. There are two important pieces to all promotion, and they become even more important in promoting your site offline. Just like the online world, your success at offline promotion is going to hinge on putting your message in front of the prospect in the right context – meaning at the right time and when they are in the right mood to perform the action you are looking for, which in this case […] read more
